Objectspace Rose Rd gallery launch
Non-profit art gallery Objectspace is the only public gallery in New Zealand wholly devoted to craft, design and architecture. After a major increase in core funding from Creative New Zealand, and an expanded brief, they embarked on a mission in 2017 to open a much larger gallery space.
The gallery team needed to raise over $600,000 in less than a year. To assist, Dock Street Group worked alongside the fundraising team and gallery pro-bono to increase the gallery’s public profile, encourage donors and execute a media campaign alongside the gallery’s launch.
Dock Street Group developed a sustained media campaign to ensure coverage across print, online and broadcast media. Focusing on the key changes and national significance, we targeted a wide cross section of national media, including business, lifestyle, arts and general news. Ahead of the gallery opening, we organised a ‘sneak peek day’ with a handful of high profile arts and design media to align the resulting coverage with the launch party.
The results were a success, with the gallery surpassing their fundraising target and Dock Street Group generating over six million media impressions.
